So Much Bigger

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21

Lord God, we believe that you are moving in your world today. We believe that you are getting ready yo bring a revival to our land and this world. Lord, we know you are stirring up your body to pray.

As we pray and wait during this time between Ascension and Pentecost, we pray with an attitude of expectation. Father, we have seen the work of your hands in the past. Your word is full of examples where you showed up in unexpected, powerful and surprising ways. You continue to answer our prayers in ways that we do not expect.

You tell us that you can do more than we can ever imagine. Lord, would you give us a small glimpse of how powerful and majestic you really are. Forgive us for the many times we limit what we think you can do or try to put you in a box, placing expectations or limitations upon you.

We look around at the diversity of the plants and the animals, and as we look at ourselves, we see the incredible beauty and variety of your hand in creation.

Father, our expectations from you are too small. Please help us to thing Bigger and bigger and bigger! You say to call on you and ask, and you will show us great and unsearchable things that we don’t know. Lord, help us to see those amazing things with eyes of faith.

Lord, we long to see an outpouring of your Holy Spirit. We long to see revival break out in our communities, in our nation and this world.

Create in us an attitude of expectation, which does not limit you in any way. Lord, take our breath away as we watch you work! We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
