The Kingdoms in Conflict event was the first teaching and equipping event to happen in the newly restored Log House at the Community of the Cross in Black Mountain, North Carolina. The event focussed on helping congregational leaders understand how spiritual warfare can play a significant role in church conflicts.
The participants were equipped to understand how the enemy establishes strongholds to hinder or block the advancements to God’s kingdom. These strongholds can become places where evil spirits can influence humans resulting in a complicated situation involving human sin and spiritual warfare.
Through understanding how strongholds form, and by realizing that there are different spheres (or battle spaces) in spiritual warfare the participants were equipped with strategies and tactics to engage in effective intercession.
Each of the various spheres has different prayer strategies and tactics that can be employed.
For me, the event was an opportunity to step into the somewhat unexpected role of teacher, point person for the room, small group leader and prayer minister (not all at the same time).
It was wonderful to be able to equip and encourage church leaders in the area of strategic prayer. It was a blessing to be able to worship together in the new space at the Log House. It was a joy to experience the fellowship of the church gathered together from various denominations throughout the US and Canada. But it was even more exciting to see church leaders getting equipped to continue the work of prayer in their congregations and presbyteries.
We are planning on offering the course again in November. Check out the PRMI website for this and other equipping events.
