Crown the King!

Praying the Word / 2020-05-21 by Martin Boardman - Prayer Mobilizer / 1 Comment

“In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. Daniel 7:13-14

Father God, we celebrate the ascension of Jesus Christ. Jesus, you equipped your disciples in the forty days after the resurrection, they watched your ascension, somewhat confused, but returned to Jerusalem to watch, wait and to pray.

Lord Jesus, in your ascension, you did not merely leave earth to return to heaven. You received authority, glory and sovereign power and an everlasting dominion, a kingdom that will never be destroyed. We give you thanks and praise that you are above everything and that NOTHING is your equal.

Lord, Your Word tells us that we are seated with you in the heavenly places. In you, we have kingdom authority. Please help us to realize this as you lead us to exercise that authority.

The disciples ascended to the upper room to wait and pray in preparation for Pentecost. We want to wait upon you and the presence and power of your Holy Spirit, which you have promised us.

Please help us wait with expectation and alertness, ready to respond to the King’s orders. Use this time to prepare our hearts and prepare your church, so that, we can step boldly in your kingdom’s authority as you move and direct us.

We thank you for the promise of your Holy Spirit and that you have told your followers that they would receive the empowering work of the Spirit so that they could be your witnesses.

Lord, help us to be prepared to receive from you. We ask this in the name of Jesus, the risen and ascended King. Amen.
