Awakening

And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armour of light. Romans 13:11-12

Our Heavenly Father, we are thankful that you do not slumber or sleep. We believe that you are getting ready to move powerfully in the earth. Now is the time for the church to wake up!

Forgive us, Lord, for the ways we have been asleep, and even for how we continue to sleep. Lord, shake us awake and get us ready to cooperate with what you are about to do.

Where we have been walking in darkness, Lord, help us to turn and walk in the light. Grow within us the desire to get rid of all the things that weigh us down.

Lord, We want to be ready to be used by you, so we ask for the gift of your Holy Spirit. Fill is with the fire of your Holy Spirit that we might be on fire as witnesses for you in this world.

Give us creative ways as the church to reach out both in this present situation and in the days, weeks, months and years to come. Restore to each one of us the excitement of the good news of salvation. Produce in us a deep hunger and longing to grow in relationship with Jesus as a bride longs for her bridegroom.

Awaken your church, O Lord. Awaken your bride! Refine her so that she is ready for what you are calling her into in this new season.
